RC Jet Planes for the Experienced Flyer

The Pusher plane is equipped with two propellers mounted at the rear and a brushless motor is its power source. These airplanes don’t have the distinctive sound of a jet, but are the best for beginners because of they are slow and steady, yet agile enough for intermediate flyers. They come Ready to Fly (RTF) and Almost Ready to Fly (ARF) and are the least expensive to buy.

When you’re ready to fly a more realistic aircraft, you’re ready for the ducted fan jet. The electric-powered model is called an EDF for electric ducted fan and the model powered by a gas engine is the GDF. Some prefer the EDF because it is cleaner and requires less maintenance than the GDF. They both are available in RTF and ARF models.

Turbine-powered jets are the ultimate aircraft and should be enjoyed by the most experienced pilots with the most money to invest. They’re not cheap since they can run into thousands of dollars for the aircraft, engine and control system. The electric models are a great alternative for experienced pilots with less money to spend.
